I'm really getting excited about our upcoming Boston trip. I'm toying with the idea of sewing a colonial girls' dress for Grace, but feel that might be a bit ambitious at this point. Esp. considering that my sewing room looks like a tornado might have landed!!
We've barrelled through units 1 and 2, heading on to unit 3 today, about Building a Village. I bought some used books at a homeschool curriculum fair that chronicle the life of a colonial child in Plimoth Plantation. The pictures are clear and exquisite, and they gave Grace and I some extra insight. We learned that they did not use silverware, mostly just a knife, to eat with. And they draped big napkins on their shoulders which they used to wipe their hands. I think THAT is a splendid idea.
AJ, Grace and I spent the morning in the dr's office. AJ had a terrible, barking cough. I gave him Delsym which effectively cleared it up, but our wonderful dr gave me a "just in case" prescription, which I appreciate.
Grace is asking me to read with her, so I will be back later!
